World Kids Colouring Day

 

World Kids Colouring Day on 6 May, 2009 was a fantastic success with over 25,000 Australian children participating in the global art initiative in support of Save the Children. In 2010, money raised from World Kids Colouring Day  will support our Australia programs.

Despite Australia's wealth and high standard of living, many children struggle to reach their potential because they don't have access to education, healthcare and protection services. A session of colouring could help change the lives of Australian children and provide them with a better future. Colouring the Australia mural from our World Kids Colouring Day book is fun, simple and a great learning experience. When each page is coloured and put together it will create a beautiful and educational mural. Display the colourful finished piece on a wall or board!

STAEDTLER, the manufacturer of writing instruments, has united globally to support Save the Children through this special promotional day. In this colouring campaign, Australian children (and children the world over) are invited to colour and raise money for their beautiful artworks, to help other children in need.

STAEDTLER is calling upon all teachers, educators and parents to get involved and organise their own colouring events at school, kindergarten and home. Ideas can include a colouring day, colouring workshop, and a colouring event in which the artworks will be exhibited and auctioned, the possibilities for creativity were unlimited. On this website, schools and organisations  can register to support World Kids Colouring Day, and receive a starter kit to inspire their colouring activities. There  is a beautiful 9 piece educational mural puzzle for the classroom wall of a the map of Australia. Also available are teaching resources and information to plan lessons and educate children about  Australia.

With the donations collected from World Kids Colouring Day, STAEDTLER will support Save the Children's Australian programs and
recognise the highest donation nationally AND the most creative activity with a great STAEDTLER colouring set valued at $500 each.
