We are on the cusp of a human catastrophe, but we can pull children back from the brink of starvation if we act now
A lethal collision of COVID, conflict and the climate crisis is propelling the world into a catastrophic hunger crisis. One of the worst hit areas is the Horn of Africa where, devastated by drought after four consecutive failed rainy seasons, over 18 million people face acute food insecurity. In Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya and beyond children are dying because of hunger and malnutrition.
We can prevent this catastrophe if we act now
Save the Children teams are working in communities to provide life-saving care to children with severe acute malnutrition:
- Treating children suffering from severe malnutrition with urgent health and nutrition services.
- Providing cash and livelihood support so parents can feed their children.
- Getting clean drinking water to hard-to-reach communities.
- Giving technical assistance to governments to support their responses.
DONATE NOW TO THE CHILDREN’S EMERGENCY FUND
In times of crisis, Save the Children is there. We are always among the first organisations to deliver life-saving support for children and their families.
Our Children’s Emergency Fund allows us to respond wherever the need is greatest. It helps us to reach children quickly with the essentials they need to survive.
The needs are huge, but so is our determination to reach every last child in crisis.
We have the experience to limit the effects of crises on children's lives - and our Children’s Emergency Fund is the key to unlocking this expertise. Thanks to your support, we can help children in their darkest hour.
