Children in Lebanon are being killed, injured and forced from their homes. More than 120 children have already lost their lives.
“Our worst nightmare is now becoming a reality. Children in Lebanon have felt the crushing anxiety of a war for months, and in the past week their lives have been turned upside down, with densely populated neighbourhoods bombed.” says Jennifer Moorehead, Save the Children Lebanon Country Director.
At least 1.2 million people, including 420,000 children have been forced to flee their homes.
Any further escalation of hostilities will mean an unacceptable loss of human life. As always, children will bear the brunt of conflict.

What are we doing in Lebanon to support children and their families?
We have been working in Lebanon since 1953. Since October 2023, we have supported more than 111,400 people, including 47,400 children, who have been displaced by the escalation of violence. This includes displaced Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian children and families.
We are continuing to scale up our response to the escalating conflict, but we need your support. With additional funds, we plan to:
- Distribute essential relief items, including water, toiletries, blankets, and food parcels.
- Provide cash for essentials and play materials for children.
- Upgrade shelters and improve water and sanitation facilities.
- Set up Child Protection Help Desks and run awareness sessions.
- Offer emergency education and child protection activities for children affected by school closures.
- Reunite children separated from their caregivers through family tracing services.
- Provide psychological first aid and train local responders in mental health support.
As violence escalates in the region, the need for support has never been more urgent. The ongoing conflict is threatening the lives of countless children and families in Lebanon, leaving them in desperate need of assistance.
