There are several ways for your employees to support our organisation while learning about our work, developing new skills, bonding with colleagues and connecting with our staff.
Corporate team volunteering
Volunteering with your colleagues in a team is a great way for you to develop skills, build relationships and give back to the community. We have a number of opportunities for you to volunteer with Save the Children Australia programs and op shops. We can organise a meaningful and impactful day for you and your colleagues to engage with Save the Children and contribute practically to our work. To find out more, please contact us via the details below.
Please note: Given the nature of our work and Child Protection Code of Conduct, there are limits on direct interaction with the children and their families in our programs.
Skilled volunteering
Your employees have a wealth of knowledge, specialist skills and experience that can help us improve our business.
Skilled volunteers can contribute in numerous ways, from reviewing marketing strategies and analysing our supporter communication materials, to providing input on HR policies and financial plans. We have an ongoing need for skilled volunteers – and we're also open to suggestions about how your company can help.
This type of volunteering can work around your employees' schedules. Projects might require a couple of days' work, or regular sessions over a few weeks or months. And it can take place at one of our offices or remotely – it depends on your employees' availability and location.
All our skilled volunteers report high levels of satisfaction and it has great benefits for your company too:
- Attracts high-performing staff who seek opportunities to volunteer their skills in order to benefit community organisations. Volunteering partnerships are often cited as a reason for choosing to work for a particular company.
- Keeps staff engaged because they know they're making a positive difference to children's lives.
- Provides unparalleled professional development opportunities. Employees report increased creativity, productivity, commitment and morale when given the opportunity to volunteer their skills.
Save the Children is grateful for the volunteering support from partners including Telstra, CBP Lawyers, NAB, Price Waterhouse Coopers and GlaxoSmithKline. See all our corporate partners.
