Emergency partners
P&O
When natural disaster strikes our region, Carnival’s passengers, crew and employees have a history of helping out. P&O Cruises parent entity, Carnival Corporation and PLC and their passengers and crew have generously contributed to several of Save the Children’s major Emergency responses in the Pacific and Southeast Asia.
When Cyclone Winston struck Fiji in 2016, $125,000 from Carnival Foundation, P&O Pacific’s passenger contributions and Princess Cruises was contributed to Save the Children’s Emergency Response. The Carnival group also generously responded with a contribution of $250,000 to our Cyclone Pam appeal for Vanuatu in 2015. After Typhoon Haiyan devastated the Philippines back in 2013, Carnival donated $50,000.
Carnival’s Emergency Contributions helped fund the rapid deployment of Temporary Learning Spaces and the purchase of school supplies for children whose schools were destroyed and possessions lost. The funds also enabled several health clinics to be restocked and repaired. This support ensured the continuity of education and health services to venerable communities, giving them safety, security and continuity in their lives when they needed it most.
Johnson & Johnson
Johnson & Johnson is committed to helping Save the Children react when disaster strikes. Thanks to Johnson & Johnson’s incredible generosity after Cyclone Pam in 2015 & Cyclone Winston in 2016, Save the Children were able to establish, fit out and run Temporary Learning Spaces to enable continuity of education for children in areas where schools were destroyed or being used as evacuation shelters.
QBE
QBE have been reliable and passionate supporters of Save the Children’s Humanitarian responses for Cyclone Winston and the Earthquakes in Nepal and Ecuador. Through staff fundraising efforts and contributions from the company they have raised important funds to deliver vital post disaster services.
Virgin Australia
Virgin Australia played a vital role in the delivery of shelter kits, Water, Sanitation and Health (WASH) supplies and the movement of key staff to the field in the wake of Cyclone Pam. Their responsiveness allowed Save the Children to quickly bring vital support to an island nation devastated by one of the biggest storms ever recorded.
