Huw Kingston: adventurer, environmentalist, fundraiser
Huw Kingston has done it all. From circumnavigating the Mediterranean Sea, to linking each Australian capital city through the most challenging human powered routes. But with the platform he has developed as an adventurer, he acknowledges a great responsibility to give back.
At every step Huw has embraced this responsibility, using the national profile he has gained from his adventures and books to fundraise for causes that protect the environment and build a better world. Along the way he teamed up with Save the Children to become a Community Ambassador.
“It’s extraordinary for us,” says Mat Tinkler, Save the Children Chief Executive Officer, “we rely on ambassadors and community fundraisers to help provide [the] support we do [for] kids all around the world.”
When reflecting on the impact of his many adventures, Huw admits how difficult it is to convey with just a few short stories when there are so many hundreds of powerful human experiences spread across his trips.
