Support a more Aussie aid budget
Save the Children is partnering with Safer World For All to call for an increase to Australia’s aid budget.
The Safer World For All is a movement of Australian individuals, community groups and organisations calling on our leaders to act now to build a safer world for all.
Anyone who lives in Australia knows this is one of the safest, healthiest, and most generous nations in the world. We enjoy a high quality of life, and our communities are built on values of kindness and compassion.
And yet, the world feels less stable than it has in generations. Multiple wars are leaving more people displaced than ever before. Communities are finding it harder to find food and water. Our neighbours need our help.
But as global need increases, Australia is giving less. Australian aid is among the least generous of all wealthy nations. In fact, only 0.68% of our federal budget goes towards aid.
We can’t let this continue.
It’s time to support our Pacific neighbours as rising seas threaten their island homes.
It’s time to be there for the one in five children living in conflict zones.
It’s time to help feed the 700 million people facing hunger.
It’s time for Down Under to step up.
