Our Op Shops are leading the way in the circular economy
Save the Children Op Shops are proud to partner with reuse, repurpose and recycling leader UPPAREL to deliver a sustainable solution to the shocking wastage that sees a mountain of clothing end up in landfill each year.
Now when you donate your unwanted clothing, you can be sure every item, whether it’s in tip-top condition or threadbare and down at heel, will be re-purposed, recycled or regenerated.
A revolution in clothing donation with zero waste
The partnership revolutionises the way you can donate your unwanted clothing. Our goal is to ensure that no donated item ends up in landfill. To counter the traditional clothing consumption model of ‘take, make and dispose’, we’ve created an innovative circular model that makes sure every item of clothing is either ‘re-used, recycled or repurposed’.
Here’s how it works
A circular loop that reduces the impact on our planet
This innovative model puts substantially less strain on the environment, keeps resources in a continually flowing loop and saves mountains of textiles from landfill.
It’s a win-win solution, helping to ensure only quality, useable items go to our Op Shops for sale, increasing the efficiency of funds raised to support vulnerable children in Australia and around the world. And at the same time, making sure any otherwise un-wearable clothing items are recovered and regenerated.
Collections are available all over Australia
You can bundle up to 10kg of your old clothing, linen and shoes to be collected at any one time by UPPAREL for only $35. Just make a booking and we’ll organise the rest. To find out more, simply click the button below.
